Ullens conducts a two-day Outreach Teacher-Training Workshop
With the objective of taking a highly advanced teaching-learning practice across local schools, Ullens School recently conducted a two-day outreach Training Workshop on the 17th and 18th of January at its premises in Khumaltar, Lalitpur. Twenty-three teachers representing various schools from Nala, Banepa participated in the two-day workshop, conducted by our Principal Medin Lamichhane, Senior Coordinator Ekta Rana and facilitators including Ullens teachers Devaki Paneru, Prity Karki, Sanjay Adhikari, and Lalita Neupane among others. There were four sessions altogether.
Session I- Understanding Training and Development
Session II- Subject-wise breakout session—Classroom visit and Interaction
Session III- Understanding the child
Session IV- Subject-specific breakout session
In the first session, the workshop focused on understanding the subject before teaching. It concluded with coming up with a marking scheme in order to incorporate a uniform performance evaluation among the teachers. Similarly, the participating teachers observed the Ullens’ student-friendly classrooms and infrastructures, followed by interaction on developing a proper teaching mechanism. The third and fourth session was held the next day, 18th January that emphasized on understanding different nature of students and teaching them accordingly.
The participating teachers found the workshop to be highly beneficial and valuable. They shared that the training was an eye-opening experience coming across a time-conscious and advanced methodologies of the teaching-learning process, in contrary to their 20-40 year long teaching experience till date.
