The Ullens Kindergarten offers a world-class pre-school, progressive and child-centered education to the children of ages 2.5 years to 5.5 years old. Managed by a highly dedicated team, the pre-school has been promoting a variety of choices of teaching-learning activities designed to encourage physical skills, cognitive learning, literacy acquisition, problem solving and independent thought.
Operating in a spacious and green state-of-the-art facility, the pre-school has well-trained individuals who portray the core values of the program.
Ullens Kindergarten is a place of reflective, intentional teaching and learning. Our interest in research, generated from within our school as well as from academia, is the foundation of our practice. Through our ongoing reflective process, our understandings evolve and deepen. In collaboration with teachers, children, parents and the community, we are committed to the promise of all children.
Students of grades I – VIII are in the elementary school program of the Ullens School. In the primary grades (I–V), we have a grade teaching system. Each classroom has two instructors to teach core subjects resulting in a smaller student-teacher ratio. From grade six onwards, students move about the building to subject-specific classrooms and laboratories. Core subject teachers across the grades make a special effort to collaborate with teachers of other subjects and departments, such as physical education, art, music, drama and Mandarin, for a more integrated and holistic learning experience.
The secondary school program consists of students of grades IX and X and the Nepal Government’s NEB Program. Like other programs of the Ullens School, the students of secondary school also experience a holistic learning experience courtesy to the teaching-learning pedagogy. Our students are involved in numerous and diverse activities that aim to encourage creativity, independent critical thinking, and international mindedness.
Ullens NEB Program is a rigorous two-year higher secondary program that enables motivated students to become well-rounded, dynamic people. We began the NEB (then HSEB) program in 2011. Our graduates are prepared not only to excel in examinations but also to deal with real-life scenarios – the hallmark of Ullens School’s philosophy. Our program's uniqueness lies in its focus on creativity and critical thinking through curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
The IBDP is a rigorous two-year pre-university international education programme that meets the needs of highly motivated secondary school students between the ages of 16 and 19 years. The IBDP not only provides intellectual challenges but also encourages creativity, independent critical thinking and international-mindedness with tolerance to different perspectives and cultures through various co-curricular activities.
Ullens School is the first and only IB World School in Nepal that has been authorized by the Government of Nepal to run the IB Diploma Programme. The Ullens School IBDP commenced in the year 2009.
