Ms. Binita Shakya
Elementary School Tier I Assistant Coordinator
Ms. Binita Shakya commenced her teaching journey at Ullens Kindergarten in 2011, where she served as a teacher and later as the academic coordinator. Her teaching philosophy centers on hands-on learning and real-world experiences, believing that students learn best when they can explore, question, and connect new ideas to their own lives. She believes in continuous learning and views education as a shared journey among teachers, students, and families. As an ICDP
facilitator, she emphasizes the importance of putting ourselves in students’ shoes to understand their emotions and challenges. Her expertise is enriched by a one-year diploma from ECEC and firsthand exposure to international teaching methodologies at the Children’s Center at Caltech and Evergreen Community School, USA. These experiences have inspired her to incorporate progressive educational approaches into her classroom practices. She is currently expanding her
expertise in education by pursuing a Master’s in Philosophy in Educational Leadership at
Kathmandu University, further strengthening her critical inquiry into transformative educational practices.
